Welcome to PS/MS 29 – The Melrose School!
At PS/MS 29 we are a safe and challenging academic setting that welcomes all learners. We are a community with high expectations that supports success for everyone. As a school community, we work diligently to ensure each child enrolled here receives the best education possible. Our belief in what makes an education great is rooted in students taking ownership in their own learning, making learning engaging to students, and ensuring that we prepare our students to be “college and career ready.” Furthermore, we are committed to ensuring our students are prepared to compete in our ever-changing technologically advanced world.

Our commitment to excellence is both for students as well as for our school staff. We believe that as educators we must also always be learners. We work hard to attract and retain great teachers and to develop the staff we have. Throughout the school year, we provide ample learning opportunities to ensure we are improving our teaching practice.

Moreover, we believe the school must work in partnership with families to ensure the success of our students. We encourage all families to get involved by volunteering, visiting, or taking part in any of our school activitiesI believe that passion and energy are contagious. As a school leader, I am passionate and committed to excellence at PS/MS 29. Benjamin Disraeli once said, “Man is only great when he acts from his passions.” I believe this is true of not only man, but school communities as well.
